19th Annual Handbook for
No-Load Fund Investors

The Handbook For No-Load Fund Investors, the definitive guide for investors who want to maximize their returns by eliminating unnecessary sales and marketing expenses, is published by "The No-Load Fund Investor" advisory service.
Commenting on the new edition of the "Handbook," Mr. Jacobs said: "I believe our "Handbook" is the most comprehensive source of information available in print for the individual investor who is focusing on no-load mutual funds." This year's edition adds 275 funds.
The 544-page, 1999 edition of the "Handbook" reports on 2,571 funds. It covers more no-load and direct marketed low-load funds than any other consumer publication. (An investor would have to go to CD-ROM to find more comprehensive data.) It is virtually unique in covering money funds.
Also, there is a special section for load and institutional funds available with retail minimums on a no-load basis through Charles Schwab & Co. and other discount brokers.

The New Handbook

The 1999 book consists of two major sections:
1. The complete Statistical Section ranks no-loads by objective for the latest 1, 3, and 5 years. It also ranks the top 50 no-loads for the latest 1-3-5-10 year periods. Includes yields, NAVs, total assets, betas, Sharpe ratios, standard deviations, management fees (including 12b-1 fees) and expense ratios. Separate tables highlight the performance of 165 no-load fund families.
2. The fund Directory Section provides comprehensive data for 1,582 stock funds, 669 bond funds and 320 money market funds, including name, address, phone numbers, description of objectives and policies, minimum investments, and identifies funds providing telephone switch privileges and retirement plans.
The Handbook also includes: A special directory of portfolio managers in alphabetical order so you can easily tell which fund(s) they are managing; Selected highlight and articles from "The No-Load Fund Investor.
